A Beautifully Curated Refuge
This wasn’t just another redecorating project. The clients were recently retired, and this was the last one they ever planned to do. So they wanted to make sure it showcased their distinctive tastes.
The couple was working with an interior designer. But because they love design and furnishings, they wanted to be very involved in developing the concept for the space.
What started as a simple repainting of the apartment and closing up a doorway to a bedroom turned into a multi-month restoration. Paint Works was contracted to do plaster reshaping, skim-coating, stripping trim, replacing tall pre-War moulding, wood floor repairs and refinishing, dropping a ceiling to accommodate recessed lighting and even some tile work in the bathrooms.
And it all paid off. This Upper West Side apartment fulfilled the clients’ needs for a refuge from the city around them and for a place where they can spend the rest of their lives together.
