Marc and his team were professional, courteous, prompt and extremely communicative from my initial contact through receipt and payment of the final invoice. And most importantly, the final quality of their work reflected this same high level of professionalism. Anyone considering an interior painting job in the New York City area would be doing him or herself a huge disservice by not contacting Paint Works and at least having them provide an estimate.
Initial estimate
Marc came to my apartment armed with an iPad and detailed project-costing software that provided a line-item-based estimate on a room-by-room basis. He spent a thorough 45 minutes costing out the estimate and then another 15 minutes walking me through the line-item detail. This approach provided complete transparency as to the component costs of the project and was a solid basis for conversations regarding minor modifications to the project while it was underway.
Interior painting
The scope of work consisted of every wall, all trim, all the ceilings and a large built-in bookshelf in my 1,350-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. One of my primary concerns was how my personal belongings (like stereo equipment, original artwork, business suits, and 1,000+ books) would be protected. Marc's team spent an entire day and did a fantastic job of prepping the entire apartment prior to any painting. They carefully organized everything in the middle of the living room and covered it all with protective plastic. Following completion of the job, not a single item was scratched, damaged or covered with any dust.
The Paint Works team was also careful to paint around art wall hangers as well as address every square inch of the large and complex built-in bookshelf. The end product of their work didn't leave even one area for which I needed to ask that touch-up work be done.
Final invoicing
The administrative staff was as professional and responsive as the rest of the team. They provided a final invoice immediately after the job was completed, which came in within 10% of their initial cost estimate. Following the job, I was left absolutely satisfied and was happy to pay the final invoice to Paint Works for a job extremely well done.

Superb from start to finish. I gave all my information to the Paint Works office and, as promised, Marc Ringel (the owner) contacted me within 24 hours. A few days later, he gave me an estimate in person. He accommodated the dates I wanted. The workers arrived on time and were introduced to me by Marc Ringel. This job went perfectly. You cannot see where they plastered and repainted the ceilings and walls. The work is utterly flawless.
